MINOT, N.D. - The Souris Basin Planning Council wants to inspire change makers in our community.
This summer they are rolling out a brand new program called Champions of Change for Minot high school students. The students will participate in focus groups, be introduced to change makers, in North Dakota and participate in a community project.
"Whatever community means to those individuals we really ant to give them a voice and kind of be an advocate for their peers. And really take some of those steps to drive change within their community,” said Lyndsay Ulrickson, executive director for the Souris Basin Planning Council.
Students who are entering their Junior and Senior year can apply. They must fill out the application on the Souris Basin Planning Council website no later than April 30.
The program runs May 28 through Aug. 16. The Council will take 10 students from the applicants to participate this summer.
