BISMARCK, N.D. - Many think Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, but local retailers disagree.
Many local boutiques and shops rely on Small Business Saturday to stay up and running.
Carly Lenihan, the owner of Lula B in Downtown Bismarck, says last year the lines were out the door for the shopping event. She expects even more people this year with the warmer weather.
Several small shops will have specials including free gift with purchase, door busters, and much more. But, the Lula B store owner says there are many other reasons to shop local.
“There is no comparison in competing with Amazon. Us small businesses we cannot do it. What we offer is: we live in the community we work in and we give back to the community. We like to support the local high schools, the different sports teams, the different colleges,” said Lenihan.
