A pair of pooches that have spent half a decade combined in an animal rescue in Sawyer have found their “forever” home.

According to For Belle’s Sake, the dogs ‘Easy’ and ‘Phoenix’ have been adopted.

Easy is a 10-year-old English Springer Spaniel, and Phoenix is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix.

Phoenix was taken in at the rescue in April 2017, and Easy that June, and the pair quickly became friends.

The rescue made it a requirement that the dogs be adopted together, since the animals bonded at the rescue, and struggled when they were apart.

Shelter staff tells Your News Leader the adoptive family was willing to adjust to the needs of each dog.

They spent a combined 1,828 days in the rescue before their adoption.

For Belle’s Sake is a 501c3 organization that rescues and rehabilitates pets from high-kill shelters, owner surrenders, or strays.
