BISMARCK, ND - Senator John Hoeven secured an additional $1.5 billion dollars in disaster funding in the final FY2020 Agriculture Appropriations funding bill on Monday.
This is in addition to the $3 billion we secured earlier this year.
The senator also made disaster payments eligible to sugar growers and expanded program eligibility to cover quality such as excess moisture and drought losses.
"We not only have low commodity prices but unprecedented weather," said Sen. Hoeven. "The disaster assistance and advancing trade agreements will help to get our producers through this tough stretch."
The House is expected to vote on the bill Tuesday followed by the Senate later this week.
