BISMARCK, N.D. - Montana Sen. Steve Daines and North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven are supporting a bill that would make an individual's concealed-carry permit reciprocal in other state's with concealed-carry laws.

The legislation, sponsored by Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn, would allow permit holders to concealed-carry while traveling or temporarily living away from home.

Sponsors say the bill does not establish national standards for concealed carry, protecting state sovereignty.

Permit holders would still have to abide by individual state concealed-carry laws.
