A second person has formally announced their intentions to run for mayor of Minot.

Tore Maras-Lindeman says she has collected the paperwork necessary to begin collecting signatures to run for mayor.

She has adopted the campaign slogan “Make Minot Great Again,” mirroring the famous slogan from President Donald Trump.

Maras-Lindeman said she joined the race to be an “active participant” and wants to tackle what she sees as corruption in local government.

Maras-Lindeman will still need to acquire the 300 signatures necessary to make it on the ballot.

Last November, current Minot Alderman Shaun Sipma announced he would be running for mayor, shortly after current Mayor Chuck Barney announced he would not seek re-election.

The primary for the Minot mayoral race is Tues., June 12, with the general election on Tues., Nov. 6.
