BISMARCK, N.D. - An online presence threatened to release a Bismarck woman’s naked photographs when she denied sending them money.

Bismarck Police say on Feb. 7, a 38-year-old woman began messaging someone who claimed to be a male doctor in Syria.

He offered to send her $20 million, only requesting $750 for shipping costs.

The woman wired the money to somewhere in Ghana.

The man then requested $26,500 for an “anti-money laundering certificate.” When she denied the request, the man threatened to release naked photographs she had sent him.

The Bismarck woman then reported the incident to authorities.

Bismarck police are still investigating this case.
