SAWYER, N.D. – A volunteer firefighter in the town of Sawyer did his part to honor those who gave their lives trying to save others on Sept. 11, 2001.
Before the sun rose Wednesday morning, Capt. Andy Hoff dressed in full firefighter uniform and raised the American flag half-staff outside Sawyer city hall, before heading to work.
At least 412 emergency workers were killed in the attacks on 9/11, and 343 of those were firefighters.
