BISMARCK, N.D. - Five-hundred Santas will be hitting the trail outside the Heritage Center joined by our own Monica Hannan and Curt Olson. The run was founded by a local judge that is working to help people fight addiction by running.

One of the special guests this year is Judge Mitchell of Los Angeles, and Friday night people that registered early watched a documentary about Judge Mitchell and the work he does with his own group, the Skid Row Runners.

"I have seen people who have gone from homelessness, and just very recently separated themselves from drug use, to now being gainfully employed, obtaining degrees at the college level, being very successful in their careers, reuniting with their families," said Mitchell.

The Santa Run begins Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m. outside the Heritage Center.
