Sanford hosts health fair

BISMARCK, N.D. - Health screenings aren't just for adults.

Sanford held a health fair Saturday morning at the Kirkwood Mall.

Those who attended received free blood pressure, glucose, and skin screenings without scheduling an appointment. Interactive educational booths showed kids how the digestive system works.

Michael Salwei says it's a great way to speak with experts in a fun, relaxed environment.

"The more we can start to get people focused on preventive medicine and doing blood pressure checks and doing glucose screens, I mean the more stuff we can catch early, the better," said Salwei, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine executive director.

This was the second Health Fair at the Kirkwood Mall.

As the event continues to grow, they anticipate the need for more booths and medical professionals.
