ROLLA, N.D. – The Rolette man charged with murder in a fatal shooting last July will now stand trial in February 2020, according to court records.
Earlier this month, the courts postponed the September trial for 50-year-old Ronald Wootan after the judge ordered a neuropsychological exam.
Wootan is charged in the shooting death of 26-year-old James “Joe” Pochant, and is also accused of firing at a SWAT truck during a standoff.
He’ll appear for a pretrial conference Jan. 27, with jury selection beginning Feb. 18.
The courts scheduled 10 days for the trial.
Wootan remains in custody in Rolette County, and faces the chance of life in prison if convicted on the AA-felony charge.
