BISMARCK The results are in for the Bis-Man Chamber's entrepreneurship event "Lemonade Day" 2019!
David Leingang organized the event and says the numbers have been steadily rising since they started the event three years ago.
Kids across Bismarck and Mandan participated by running their own lemonade stands for a day. This year, 94% of participating groups saved money from their profit and were able to pay back their investor.
25% of participants opened a savings account, and 75% met their profit goals.
"It's amazing to see how much or how many of them actually put their money back into the community or into their own future, their savings account, and don't spend any at that moment. So I have to applaud them for their integrity," Leingang says.
Based on the statistics, the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber EDC will select a "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" in September. The winner will then go on to compete in the national standings for Lemonade Day.
