Report shows more than 400 instances of violence against Bismarck teachers last school year

BISMARCK, N.D.- Teacher safety was a top issue during the teacher negotiations for Bismarck Public Schools. Now a report from a district committee shows teacher concerns.

The report from the BPS Health and Safety Committee shows from July 2018 through May 2019, there were 412 violent incidents against teachers. Seventy-five percent were at the pre-K or elementary level.

Three hundred and nineteen students have an individual education plan, 285 have behavior plans in place.
