MINOT, N.D. – North Dakota First Lady Kathryn Burgum visited the Magic City Tuesday, spending time with community members at the forefront of drug addiction recovery.

The governor and first lady have made removing the stigma of drug addiction and recovery a priority.

The event, called ‘Recovery Empowered,’ brought these advocates together for a panel discussion on the progress and efforts to improve addiction TREATMENT and recovery, and the work being done in Minot.

“North Dakota, 60 percent of the people are impacted by addiction in some way or another in our state, and so that's why it's so important for all of us in our state to do just what Minot is doing, bringing the community together to figure out solutions to try to help people,” said Burgum.

The first lady also spoke with students at Minot State University.
