MINOT, N.D. - Reconstruction plans are underway for 31st Avenue in Minot.
Early this month, the city council awarded the contract to Wagner Construction.
Plans for the road include a curb and gutter along the entire road, new storm water inlets, and the addition of a roundabout.
A spokesperson on the project said these improvements are needed.
“Over time, infrastructure just wares out. Parts of that roadway were built back in the early 70s. Some of the newer portions were built about 10 years ago. So a majority of the corridor is actually pretty old, and it just need to be replace,” said Lance Meyer, city engineer.
Construction is scheduled to start this coming spring.
