Taxable Sales and Purchases Increase Nearly 10% for Second Consecutive Quarter

The state collected $5.15 billion in taxable sales during April, May and June. That’s an increase of 9.46 percent over the same period last year.

Four of the six largest cities saw growth:

Williston – Increase of 29.27 percent

Dickinson – Increase of 13.27 percent

Minot – Increase of 1.49 percent

Fargo – Increase of 0.67 percent

Bismarck (2.81 percent) and Grand Forks (11.75 percent) both decreased from Q2 2017 to Q2 2018.

Logan County had the highest growth of any county at 62.38 percent. According to the Tax Department report, North Dakota has seen positive growth for the past six quarters.
