BISMARCK, N.D. - About 300 North Dakotans Saturday say they ran for a change in the state's culture: raising awareness against drunk driving.
The run was started seven years ago in memory of Allison, Aaron, and Brielle Deutscher. A young family killed by a drunk driver.
Proceeds from the run go to support local organizations that fight drunk driving.
"Allison had a passion for running, and so it only made sense to start something that would honor that. Some of her friends and sister formed a group and decided to do just that. It was really intended to be a one time race," said Tom Deutscher, organizer.
