BISMARCK, N.D. - The iconic BNSF Railway bridge connecting Bismarck and Mandan is approaching the end of the line. BNSF says its proposing to build a new structure in place of the old one.
As part of the process, the Coast Guard is holding a public meeting and open house with BNSF for the public to learn more about the project.
A BNSF spokesperson says the whole focus of the public meeting is to let residents learn more about the process and to hear from the Coast Guard and BNSF about the proposed plan.
"There's lots of discussion and ideas from the public. For folks who have these ideas, we encourage them to provide them, and this meeting is a chance for them to do that," said Amy McBeth, BNSF.
The meeting and open house will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ramkota Hotel on Dec. 14.
