Hundreds were getting into the holiday spirit at the Heritage Center. Not just because they're dressed like Santa, but because they're helping their fellow man.
This is a RADD Santa Run. RADD as in Runners Against Destructive Decisions. An organization that helps recovering addicts by involving them in comraderie and weekly runs.
"It helps people that are out of hope. It gives them an outlet to change the path they're on. Support. Love. It just shows that people aren't alone," said Tyler Auck of Bismarck.
The Santa Run helps fund RADD's work throughout the year so they can help more North Dakotans escape addiction.
"A lot of people need help out there and any organization, anything, It's just good to support it," said Victoria Bail of South Dakota.
Family, friends, and avid runners alike united to have a good time.
"The camraderie with the other people that are out here. I think everybodies got the holiday spirit and it'll be fun," said Jeff Waters of Bismarck.
Around 500 Santas, elves, and trees were looping the capital grounds Saturday Morning for the cause.
