Process for bidding, acquiring surviving flood structures

MINOT, N.D.- The City of Minot is adding three flood acquired structures for bidding.

These structures will go up for auction after being deemed suitable for relocation, as long as they're outside the FEMA flood zone.

There are four tiers to the bidding process. If there are no bids for the first minimum price, the price is lowered. It is lowered again if there are still no bids. If there are still no bids on the property, it is then demolished.

“All that's necessary is that before the deadline is set, that you mail in, in a sealed envelope you bid price. We will also do a legal notice,” said Resilience Program Manager John Zakian.
