President Trump signs executive order to construct Keystone XL Pipeline between Canada, Montana

President Trump signed an executive order Friday to start construction of the TransCanada Keystone XL Pipeline along the border between Canada and Montana, according to a release sent out by his White House Press Secretary.

North Dakota Petroleum Council President Ron Ness said: “It creates jobs, and it generates tax revenue. Whether or not those are people working in North Dakota or not remains to be seen.”

Job Service of North Dakota Workforce Center Manager Paula Hickel says the national coverage this project will get might attract job-seekers from around the country to western North Dakota, where there is currently a shortage of welders and pipe fitters.
