Police cite driver of Wednesday morning rollover crash

BISMARCK, N.D. - Bismarck police say they’ve cited the driver of the car from Wednesday morning's crash for DUI.

Officers say 21-year-old Christopher Davenport has been cited for DUI, reckless endangerment and failure to maintain control.

Davenport and a 22-year-old Mandan man were traveling in an SUV south bound on river road after midnight on May 15.

The spokesperson for the Bismarck Police Department, Lt. Luke Gardiner says the vehicle went off the roadway and through a guard rail near the 800 block of River RD. Gardiner says the car hit a tree and almost rolled into the river.

Police say the car caught on fire and the fire department was able to put it out.

Officers say the passenger was taken to the hospital and later released. As for the driver, Davenport, police say he was flown to a hospital in Fargo for treatment.
