Plea deal in Mountrail County theft case

A Bismarck man has struck a plea deal for his involvement in a 2016 scheme to steal property from a Palermo residence and sell it for money.

Prosecutors had accused 44-year-old Terry Ratliff and two other men of arranging to have one of the men steal the items from a relative’s property in January of 2016.

The items included a truck, a trailer, a Bobcat, and various pieces of construction equipment.

Ratliff agreed to plead guilty to charges of criminal trespass and theft of property. In exchange, the state dropped 11 other counts.
