Pioneer Village move funding bill sent to governor

BISMARCK, N.D. – A bill that would reserve some state funds to help move the Pioneer Village from the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot to Burlington is headed to the Governor's desk.

The House passed the bill Tuesday morning by a vote of 80 to 12. The Senate passed it Monday afternoon by a vote of 42 to 4.

The bill would allocate $150,000 in state funding for the move.

The State Fair would, in turn, increase its private amount in aid from $50,000 to $100,000.

The village must be moved off of the grounds by June 15. Two of the smaller structures have already been moved.
