Parents can help match negative school lunch balance payments for families in need

BISMARCK, N.D. - Bismarck Public Schools is working to help families who struggle to pay for their child's lunches.

In December parents wanted a way to give back to these families. When parents pay off some of their negative lunch balance, BPS will match that amount with the donated money.

“We feed kids no matter what. We're going to feed them whether they're negative $500 in the hole or negative 50 cents in the hole, we're going to feed them and get their balance paid off,” said Child Nutrition Program Director Michelle Wagner.

So far, only a handful have donated. Parents can continue to donate on My Payments Plus.
