WILLISTON, N.D. - Professional Bull Riding is returning Williston this summer, and the purpose behind it is much more than what meets the eye.
Event coordinators say Williston native Stetson Lawrence, along with other top bull-riders, will be attending, so this might be the biggest event the city has ever seen. They say their long-term goal is to boost the confidence of families, business owners, and other large event organizers who are thinking about moving to or investing in Williston.
Jason Marmon, the US Energy director and a PBR event coordinator, explained, "It was a risk. It was scary to be honest. [Ben Marquis and I] were like, well, we are going to have to be the ones that make sure that this works."
Little Texas, a two-time Grammy nominated Country Music band will be headlining.
The event will be on June 20 at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds.
You can keep up to date on PBR Williston's Facebook page. They are still looking for sponsors and volunteers.
