Overnight fire wakes Mandan neighborhood

MANDAN, ND - UPDATE: Mandan fire fighters put out a house fire early Thursday morning on the 700 block of Custer Drive.

Mandan Fire Department says one resident was inside the house and got out uninjured.

More than 20 fire fighters responded and put out the fire within 25 minutes.

The fire destroyed part of the roof and it can’t be lived in.

Police shut down the road during the fire and spent time removing ice from the area.

MFD says the cause is accidental.


ORIGINAL STORY: A house fire woke a quiet Mandan neighborhood early Thursday morning on the 700 block of Custer Drive.

Flames destroyed a portion of the roof.

Mandan police say the road is back open and they're working on removing ice from the area.

It's unknown if there are any injuries.
