One Fatality Outside of Jamestown Monday Night

BISMARCK, ND - One person is dead and another injured in a crash South of Jamestown.

North Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened on Highway 46 six miles East of Montpelier around 6:30 Monday night.

According to officers, Damon Smith of Litchville was driving a Dodge Ram eastbound when he rear-ended an 80-year-old man from Montpelier driving a Jeep.

That man, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Smith was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and has been released.

No charges have been filed.
