Construction delayed on Old Chicago Centre
Plans for the soon to be Old Chicago Centre in northeast Bismarck have taken a turn.
Developer Randall Rhone originally planned to have the plaza complete in the first quarter of 2020.
However, workers have yet to break ground on construction.
Rhone plans to turn the piece of land on Trenton Drive across from the Exxon Gas Station in Northeast Bismarck into an 11,000 square foot strip mall featuring a 5,000-square-foot Old Chicago restaurant.
The realtor for the Centre, Les Kern says multiple people have shown interest in renting and he has high hopes for the plaza.
"Anything up in north Bismarck, that's where all the growth is right now. Old Chicago's got a great name and great following. So, I think once it's built and up there it'll do very very well," said Kern.
Kern says the decision on when Rhone plans to break ground is still up in the air.
