Not guilty pleas in Minot attempted murder case

A Minot man accused of breaking into a home in August and firing a rifle at man has entered not guilty pleas to a series of charges, including attempted murder.
Forty-four-year-old Travis Yoney appeared for his preliminary hearing and arraignment Thursday in North Central District Court in Minot.
Investigators say Yoney fired a 22-caliber rifle at a southwest Minot home the night of Aug. 23.
They say he then forced his way inside and fired again at a 30-year-old man, but missed.
The victim tackled and subdued Yoney until police arrived.
Yoney faces six charges in total, five felonies and a misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.
Yoney, who remains in custody in the Ward County Jail, will appear for his pretrial conference Dec. 5.
A trial date has not been set.
