UPDATE: Man leaves pedestrian bridge, north Broadway reopens in Minot

UPDATE: As of 5:45 p.m. A man who had been threatening to jump off of the pedestrian bridge on North Broadway has left the bridge under his own power unhurt, and traffic on the road underneath has resumed.
Minot Police and crisis negotiators had been working to talk the man off of the bridge for more than two hours. The incident prompted police to shut down traffic in both directions on North Broadway while negotiators spoke with the man.
UPDATE: As of 4:50 p.m., Broadway in Minot is blocked off north and south of the bridge. The man is on top of the bridge and police say he has been up there for roughly two hours.
Minot Police and a crisis negotiator are on scene.
ORIGINAL STORY: Minot Police have confirmed that north Broadway is currently shut down, as crews are monitoring an individual who is threatening to jump off the walkway bridge.
Traffic is being rerouted. People are advised to steer clear of the area.
