On Monday, the Dickinson School Board decided not to move forward with changing the mascot.

In December, the Little People of America spoke with the school board to explain how derogatory the Midget mascot is to them.

Since December, the board has held workshops and surveyed the community and students. The board found that 65% wanted to keep the mascot.

The school board decided not to make a decision.

The school board thanks the Little People of America for their input, the community and students for their input, and all those who participated in the survey.
