A $20 million transmission line is helping improve access to reliable electricity in Minot, at the airbase, and in rural areas.

Central Power Electric Cooperative recently finished a 26.8 mile long transmission line starting southwest of Minot and traveling north, connecting to a substation east of Ruthville.

Verendrye Electric uses the line to serve the areas.

The project provides a 115,000 volt transmission line bringing another source of electrical capacity to the region.
