MINOT, N.D.- Ward County's search for a new human resources director could mean budget cuts across county departments.
The commissioners discussed a salary for the county's new H.R. position during a session following their regular meeting Tuesday morning.
The annual salary for the position ranges between $67,000 and $110,00, too much to come out of the county budget.
The commissioners suggested the salary could come out of the rest of the county department's budgets since H.R. applies to all county employees.
“Like Shelly suggested, look at the employee numbers by department and get a percentage. Because they would generally have a bigger budget to be able to do that,” said commissioner John Fjeldahl.
The commissioners said this hire could cost around $250 per employee, if it's not prorated by department.
