BISMARCK, ND- Those looking for a modern place to live in downtown Bismarck are in luck.
By the year 2021 there will be two new apartment complexes for locals to choose from.
The first project underway is a space at 630 East Main Avenue.
Developer, David Witham, says they're still working on a name.
He says the empty space next to the Radison Hotel will be transformed into a 52 unit apartment.
It will be broken down into 30 one bedroom units, 10 two bedroom, and two three bedroom units.
Witham plans to have modern fixtures, in-unit washer and dryers, central AC, and about 700 stalls of parking available plus nearby city ramps.
On top of that, there will be a community courtyard space for residents behind the building and 11,000 sq ft of space for commercial stores on the property.
The total project cost is estimated at $10 million. The developers are aiming to have construction completed by August of 2020.
The next project, named First Street Lofts, is only a few blocks away on the north east corner of South 1st Street and East Sweet Avenue.
Developer, John Youness, says they're goal is to transform the space into a modern, amenity rich lifestyle option for people who want to live or work close to downtown Bismarck.
The space will hold 56 units total; 13 efficiencies, eight two bedroom and 35 one bedroom units.
Amenities will include in-unit washer and dryers, quartz counter tops, central AC, upgraded finishes, storage options on the third through fifth floors and private secured access.
The estimated cost of the project is $7.7 million. Youness says they'd like to have it ready by late 2020 or early 2021.
Developers of both complexes plan to begin construction in the upcoming months.
