National award honors late Minot florist

MINOT, N.D. - The Magic City lost a cherished member of it business community with the passing of James Lowe this past summer, who shared his passion for floral design while working at his family’s business since 2007.

Now his life and passion for his work is being honored with a scholarship to help one floral designer make it to the annual American Institute for Floral Design Symposium.

We caught up with his loved ones to hear their thoughts on the award.

“It's really great to have him go on. There's a company who is sponsoring it that he worked with a lot. It's a software developer that develops software for floral businesses,” said Phil Lowe, James’ father and Lowe’s Garden Center owner.

That company is Floristware, and they've set up a Facebook page where you can vote for your favorite floral arrangement from a number of participants.

“I think there's a number of them that are really unique and something that he would be proud to be a part of,” Phil said.

You can vote for your favorite through April 12.
