BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota National Guard held a prayer service tonight honoring those lost on 9-11 and fighting the war on terror.
Service members and families gathered at a memorial in front of Fraine Barracks in Bismarck.
The night started with an optional run, but the main event is the ceremony where people can share their stories from fateful that day.
"They come here knowing it is going to be emotional for them, but it's a time to remember and focus, and they still want that. So providing a landing spot for that. To take a few moments to reflect, and think about what happened," said Chaplain Jon Wymer, NDNG.
Since 2001, thousands have paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting the Global War on Terrorism.
