WILLIAMS COUNTY, N.D. - North Dakota’s first radioactive material waste disposal site could soon be in Williams County.

Tuesday night, Secure Energy Services is holding public meetings at the Williston ARC to give the public a chance to talk and learn about the facility.

If approved, the 13-mile landfill near Williston could accept a material called technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive material, or TENORM.

Currently, all TENORM is being sent out of North Dakota to surrounding states that accept it.
