NDSU employee charged with sex assault waives preliminary hearing

BISMARCK, N.D. - A NDSU employee accused of touching a minor in 2018 pleaded not guilty and is headed for trial.

Fourty-four-year-old Viet Doan is accused of touching a minor inappropriately in November while in Bismarck, according to the affidavit.

In May the spokesperson for the university said Doan was put on administrative leave. During the time of the accused incident Doan was the Director of Enrollment Management Administrative Systems.

Doan waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea in the case.

He’s charged with two counts of sexual assault on a victim between 15 and 17.

His felony jury trial is scheduled for November.
