BISMARCK, N.D. - Liberty Leads the Way is a painting that hangs in the Louvre, and a group of North Dakota Artists made an American edition Saturday.

Liberty Trudges Through Injustice. The project is a collaboration of more than fifty artists and another sixty volunteers according to Shane Balkowitsch, the ambrotypist that led the production. Shane says a copy of the final image will be given to the historical society for future generations.

"Lady Liberty is a very iconic figure, I think that we all know who she is and we're just trying to pay our respects to her, and by paying our respects to lady liberty we are paying our respects to our government and our democracy," said Shane Balkowitsch, Ambrotypist.
