The House of Representatives delivered the articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate floor just one hour ago.
Chief Justice John Roberts will swear in the senators Thursday afternoon, beginning the trial.
North Dakota's senators have been against impeachment throughout the process, but say they will be fair and diligent.
"I don't think that the House should've moved forward with impeachment, but we have a responsibility to our part,” said Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D. “We'll go through that; we'll do that by the Constitutional requirements. We’ll do it carefully and honestly."
"If I could just do whatever I wanted to do, we wouldn't see any witnesses,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D. “But two week from now, when we've been informed by the case presented by the managers and the defense, maybe I'd change my mind."
