ND National Guard soldiers assisting CBP along southern border

North Dakota National Guard (NDNG) leaders say soldiers are going to Arizona to help with the border security mission.

Fourteen guardsmen from two helicopter crews will be down south for several months.

A Black Hawk will help Customs and Border Protection (CBP) move troops and equipment quickly along the border, while a Lakota helicopter will be used for reconnaissance and surveillance.

The NDNG has been helping with border security operations on-and-off since 2012.
