ND Game and Fish has a reminder anglers
Fishing is a popular pastime in North Dakota, and the Game and Fish Department is reminding anglers to keep the fish they catch in deep water, rather than catching and releasing.
Department fisheries personnel say if you catch a fish from depths of more than 25 feet, you should keep it. They say it likely won't survive after the extreme change in water pressure because it causes injury.
They say people think they're doing a good thing, but the fish would likely die anyway.
