BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota Department of Health has issued a construction permit to Meridian Energy Group for the Davis Refinery.

The granting of the permit allows the company to start construction under Air Pollution Control Rules.

The permit will require monitoring, reporting and record keeping to ensure compliance with the air quality permit.

"We're happy to comply with their requests and now that it's over with we can just grin and go do our business. We're very happy that they came to the conclusions that they came to," said William Prentice, CEO of Meridian Energy Group.

Prentice says the Davis Refinery is going to be the cleanest refinery on earth because of the regulations and innovations Meridian Group did to the refinery.

The refinery will be located in Billings County, about two miles west of Belfield.
