Murder suspect enters plea to weapons charge

ROLLA, N.D. - A Rolette man awaiting a murder trial next year in Rolette County has pleaded not guilty to a weapons charge.

According to court records, 50-year-old Ronald Wootan pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of possessing a weapons in a correctional facility.

Corrections officers found a weapon made out of razor blade and other parts in Wootan's cell in August.

Wootan will stand trial in February in the July 2018 shooting death of James "Joe" Pochant.

The weapons charge is a B-felony.
