Mott to apply for disaster declaration

MOTT, N.D. - The Mayor of Mott says he intends to apply for a disaster declaration after a tornado caused damage last weekend, followed by a hail storm Wednesday night.

Storms damaged several roofs, including that of a car wash, along with significant crop losses. If accepted, Mayor Troy Mosbrucker says a new automated siren system is among the top priorities.

The Hettinger County extension agent says the town received at least seven inches of rain in the last week.
