"The Cat in the Hat," "Horton Hears a Who" and "The Lorax" are all stand-out pieces of Dr. Seuss' career.

The Morton-Mandan Public Library wanted to celebrate an author read for generations on what would've been his 115th birthday.

Dozens of kids filled the library Saturday afternoon to do arts and crafts, scavenger hunts and make their own tasty rendition of Seuss' characters. Linda Austin with the library is a mother who read a lot of Green Eggs and Ham to her kids.

“Young and old, we've all heard of Dr. Seuss. Grandparents and parents, they all read Dr. Seuss books. It's the type of book that families can enjoy together because we've all got our personal favorites,” said Austin.

In his long career, Dr. Seuss published more than 60 books.
