An open gym was held Saturday for athletes to practice their skills on wheels.
The tournament is open to players of all abilities and skill levels. Their are currently about a dozen teams signed up and room for four more, registration is still open. Chairs are provided for the teams. This annual event is a major fundraiser for Dreams in motion and gives everyone a chance to play.
"Say you do not feel you are a great basketball player, or your skills are very much in the hoops area. It doesn't matter, once you get in the wheelchair we're all on the same playing field. Able-bodied, disabled individual, it doesn't matter, we all have a lot to learn as far as the game goes and so it's a fun event for everyone," said Jackie Mrachek, Dreams in Motion Coach.
March Mobility Madness will be at 1 pm, March 18, at Mandan Middle School.
