Several North Dakotans who were traveling to the west coast felt the earthquakes over the past couple of days.

Minot resident Sarah Anderson tells Your News Leader she was in Oxnard, Calif., on the Fourth of July when the earth started moving under her.

“It literally, it's like nothing I've ever felt before. It felt like I was on some kind of a ride, and the earth was literally moving under my feet. It was kind of an icky feeling. I didn't care for it,” said Anderson.

Anderson says she traveled to Las Vegas Friday and was shopping at the Mandalay Bay when the second one hit.

“Someone in the store said, ‘We're having an earthquake!’ And my daughter of course got really scared, and I just stood there, like, I can't wait for this to be over. I cannot believe this is happening again,” she said.

Anderson is flying back to North Dakota Saturday. She says she and her loved ones were not hurt in either earthquake.
