MINOT, N.D. - Members of the Minot community continued a long-standing tradition of honoring veterans with a special program Monday morning at the Old Armory.
The ceremony started with the posting of colors presented by different Minot Veteran Organizations, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Glenburn Public School students.
Pastor Daniel Andrus also spoke briefly at the ceremony. The pastor shared memories from his time in the service.
“It's kind of honor. We respect the time they spent to give their time to this country. It's a constant battle , but we appreciate their service As Ronald Reagan said we are only one generation from not having our freedom,” said Wood Schmidt, who attended the ceremony.
Each branch of the U.S. military was recognized at the event.
